Format numbers as text Select the cell or range of cells that contains the numbers that you want to format as text. How to select cells or a range. On the Home tab, in the Number group, click the arrow next to the Number Format box, and then click Text.
Change the default font in Word Go to Home, and then select the Font Dialog Box Launcher . Select the font and size you want to use. Select Set As Default. Select one of the following: This document only. All documents based on the Normal template. Select OK twice.
Change the text color for a cell or range of cells Select the cell or range of cells that has the data you want to format. You can also select just a portion of the text within a cell. On the Home tab, choose the arrow next to Font Color . Under Theme Colors or Standard Colors, choose a color.
Press one of the following keyboard shortcuts: To AutoFit column width: Alt + H, then O, and then I. To AutoFit row height: Alt + H, then O, and then A.
Once youve decided on the format, you need to go into the Excel options and select the Advanced tab. In the Advanced tab, scroll down to the General section and look for the Default Date Format option. Select the format you want from the drop-down menu and then click OK.
