One way to do this is to use a program like Photoshop. With Photoshop, you can resize an image without losing quality by using the "Image Size" dialog box. In the "Image Size" dialog box, you can change the width and height of the image. You can also change the resolution.
Cropping photos is a great tool to discard of unwanted areas in your image however it is important to keep in mind that when you crop an image this can have an effect on the quality of the image as cropping involves cutting away part of the original image resulting in some of the pixels being discarded.
In practice, TIFF is used almost exclusively as a lossless image storage format that uses no compression at all. Most graphics programs that use TIFF do not compression. Consequently, file sizes are quite big. (Sometimes a lossless compression algorithm called LZW is used, but it is not universally supported.)
TIFF is uncompressed. Since TIFF does not use any compression algorithms like JPEG or GIF formats, the file contains more data and results in a more detailed picture. However, because TIFF files contain more data, the files are large and take up a lot of storage space.
TIFF files are significantly larger than their JPEG counterparts, and can be either uncompressed or compressed using lossless compression. Unlike JPEG, TIFF files can have a bit depth of either 16-bits per channel or 8-bits per channel, and multiple layered images can be stored in a single TIFF file.
Here's how to do it: Locate the PNG file you wish to convert. Right-click it. Select 'edit' (or select 'open with' then select 'paint') In the opened paint image, select 'file' then 'save as' In the dropdown box under the naming space, select TIFF. Click 'save' and your TIFF file is ready.
When it comes to TIFF, two main compression options are available–they're known as LZW or ZIP. Both ZIP and LZW are lossless compression methods. That means that no data is being lost in the compression, unlike a lossy format like JPG.
Right-click the illustration that you want to save as a separate image file, and then click Save as Picture. In the Save as type list, select the file format that you want.
Both PNG and TIFF files benefit from lossless compression, meaning that no matter how often you save, open, or resize them, they'll maintain their quality.
Choose File and select Save As. Select the TIFF format and click Save. for the output file you want. Click OK.
