To encrypt a PDF on a Mac, right-click or hold ctrl and click on the PDF, then select "open with preview". Navigate to the file menu, select export, ensure the new PDF is saved in the same location as the old version. Check the encrypt box, enter desired password, click save, then replace. An Owner Password, Master Password, or Permissions Password is what you require in order to copy, edit, or print a PDF document. Without an Owner Password, you cant make changes within the PDF file. If youve got the Owner Password, youll be able to edit, print, change, or copy data from the PDF document.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. Choose File Edit Permissions, then do any of the following: Set a password for opening the PDF: Select Require Password To Open Document. Enter a password, then retype it to verify.
- Open the PDF file in your Google Chrome. - Next enter the PDF password to open the file. - Now Press Ctrl + P or go to file Print Save as PDF. - Save the PDF file in the desired location and the new file will not have any password.
