hi again from CIS to the next tip your DVR will automatically detect the monitor that its connected to however sometimes you may be connected to a low resolution monitor and you wanted to bump up the resolution so the DVR actually supports that let me show you how to do that when you go to your menu select display and select outputs you will see that this specific DVR was set to an output resolution of 1024 by 768 I know that Im connected to a 1080p high-definition TV so I can select the maximum output resolution which is HDMI resolution 1080p I select that resolution I click apply it saves the settings and Ill do exit the DVR will save the settings and will force a restart to enable the new output resolution the DVR will soon show us the images you can already see an improving resolution I have 10 seconds to confirm the resolution Ill click apply and once Ive done that you can see that my resolution has improved dramatically

The vertical resolution (number of horizontal lines) on a TV or computer screen. The term typically is used with TVs; for example, HDTVs have 720 or 1,080 lines, while analog TVs used 525 or 625 lines, several of which were invisible between frames.
