hi now all too often I see people by down solutions to equations and heres a typical example of the kind of thing that I see now the answer is YX does equal 1 it works 2 times 1 is 2 plus 6 gives the st. but this is what I would call a very poor layout for an equation so can you see anything wrong with this or is this something that you would most probably do well its these equals down here they dont make it have any sense at all because for instance weve got here 8 equals 2x and on this line Im saying 2 x equals 2 so Ive already contradicted myself 8 equals 2x 2x equals 28 cant be equal to 2 and here I say that 2 equals x but then I say x equals 1 so again theres a contradiction so writing out equations like this putting equals down here is not a good idea and I would always say to most of my students if you tend to put two equals on a line theres a good chance that youre going to be writing incorrect statement so I would certainly encourage you to write down one equals on

Equations are centered on the page and labeled with Arabic numerals, right-aligned, in parentheses, and referred to only by those numbers in the text e.g., you should always say as seen in (3) rather than as seen in Equation (3).
Mathematical equation Author. Year of publication (in round brackets). Title of article (in single quotation marks). Title of journal (in italics capitalise first letter of each word in title, except for linking words such as and, of, the, for). Volume, issue, page numbers. Available at: URL (or doi if available).
8. In APA style, when discussing numbered equations in the text, write out the word Equation and give the number. For example, you would write see Equation 1.
If you include tables, figures, and equations in your documents, they should be properly numbered and cross-referenced. By convention, table captions are above the table; figure captions are below the figure, and equation numbers are to the right of the equation.
Add captions Select the object (table, equation, figure, or another object) that you want to add a caption to. On the References tab, in the Captions group, click Insert Caption. In the Label list, select the label that best describes the object, such as a figure or equation.
The equation numbers should be enclosed by parentheses and placed at the right-hand side of the page. If you are referring to an equation in the text, use eq. (3) (or other abbreviations). If it is the first word in a sentence, capitalize it, i.e., Eq.
