All Word documents are based on templates with preset styles like normal, heading 1, and title. Template files send this information to Word documents every time they are opened, just like regular documents.

Click the Templates tab. Under Global templates and add-ins, select the check box next to the template or add-in that you want to load. If the template or add-in you want does not appear in the box, click Add, switch to the folder that contains the template or add-in you want, click it, and then click OK.
Create your own template Choose an option: From the Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, or Sites home screen, at the top, click Template gallery. Click Submit template. Click Select a document and choose the template file you created. Click Open. (Optional) To submit a copy of the file instead of the original, check the box.
Save a document as a template On the File menu, click Save As. On the Format pop-up menu, click Word Template (. dotx). In the Save As box, type the name that you want to use for the new template, and then click Save.
What is a DOTX file? Files with DOTX extension are template files created by Microsoft Word to have pre-formatted settings for generation of further DOCX files. A template file is created in order to have specific user settings that should be applied to subsequent flies created from these.
Design tab Click in the table that you want to format. Under Table Tools, click the Design tab. In the Table Formats group, rest the pointer over each table style until you find a style that you want to use. Note: To see more styles, click the More arrow. Click the style to apply it to the table.

Creating a Custom Template Click the File tab and select Save as Template. Type a name for your template into the File Name field. Select Microsoft Word template (*. dotx) from the File Format menu if your template doesnt contain macros, or Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled Template (*. Click Save.
You must use one of the Microsoft-supplied themes. You must be the only one editing the slide; two or more users cannot be collaborating if Designer is to work. Be sure to choose either Title or Title + Content layouts. Dont add more objects or shapes on the slide; just your your photo(s).
Create a template based on an existing template or document Click the File tab, and then click New. Under Available templates, click New from existing. Click a template or a document that is similar to the one that you want to create, and then click Create New.
Go to File Options Customize Ribbon Under the Customize Ribbon combo box on upper right, select All Tabs Scroll down to Chart/Table/Pivot Table Tools and put a checkmark next to Design and click OK to apply the changes.
