This format is usually MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, depending on the regional settings on the computer.
The ISO standard takes a general-to-specific approach for its date formats: The year comes first, followed by the month and then by the day of the month, with most elements represented as numerical values. For example, the ISO representation for July 15, 2022 is either 20220715 or 2022-07-15.
From the Header Footer Ribbon menu, click Insert Date or Insert Time.
In traditional American usage, dates are written in the monthdayyear order (e.g. April 12, 2024) with a comma before and after the year if it is not at the end of a sentence and time in 12-hour notation (7:17 am).
Place the year before the month and conclude with the day. The same date, which would be 10/09/22 in American English but 09/10/22 in British English becomes 2022-10-09 in the International Standard. You could also write this date out as 2022 October 9. Dont use commas between any of the data points.
The international standard recommends writing the date as year, then month, then the day: YYYY-MM-DD. So if both Australians and Americans used this, they would both write the date as 2019-02-03.
In America, the date is formally written in month/day/year form. Thus, January 1, 2011 is widely considered to be correct.
In more formal, international contexts yyyy-mm-dd is the preferred allowed format.
