In today's video update, we discuss Canada's free settlement services for immigrants. Many immigrants are unaware of these services, and even those who are aware may not know how to access them. The majority of newcomers benefit from Canada's government-funded settlement programs, but outreach is needed to make more immigrants aware of these services. Immigrants can obtain settlement assistance from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration for Quebec-bound newcomers. The data from the IRCC's first settlement outcomes report shows that these services are beneficial, as seen in the 2018 and 2019 newcomer outcome surveys. In total, 120,897 immigrants were surveyed, with 55,370 being settlement program participants and 65,527 non-clients.
