3. Linux, Using LibreOffice Draw Open your PDF file in LibreOffice Draw. Select the content you want to redact. Press the Delete key to remove the content. Click on File and select Export as PDF. In the PDF Options dialog box, choose the settings you want, such as the page range and image resolution.
Redaction is a two-step process: First, redaction annotations are created in the areas that are to be redacted. This step wont remove any content from the document yet; it just marks regions for redaction. Second, to actually remove the content, the redaction annotations need to be applied.
There are a few different software that can help you edit different documents types when working with PDFs on Linux however, LibreOffice is among the most popular. This free tool works with most office files.
Re: Redact PDFs Then right click on the highlighted section again and select Annotation Properties. Then click on the color selection to open the color picker window and choose black. Close the color picker window and select Apply in the Annotations Properties window.
How to secure a PDF file using Word. Open the document you would like to password-protect. Click File. Select Info. Select Protect Document. From the dropdown menu, choose Encrypt with Password. Type a password, then click OK. Type the password again to confirm it, then click OK.
Heres how to black out text in a PDF: Open your PDF in docHub. Select Tools, then Redact. Select text. Either double-click to select the text or drag to select lines of text. Apply redaction. Once youve selected the text you want to remove, click Save to apply the changes and save the document.
In Acrobat Home, choose See all tools Protect a PDF Manage security policies. Select New. Select Use public key certificates, and then select Next. Type a name and description for the policy, and specify the document components to encrypt.
To open an encrypted PDF on Linux, you can use a PDF viewer that supports password-protected documents, such as docHub Reader, Okular, or Evince.
