How To Search Multiple PDF Files Using Acrobat Reader Open Acrobat or Acrobat Reader on your computer. Click on the Edit menu and select Advanced Search. Youll be prompted by a window to navigate to where you would like to search All PDF Documents in and then choose the folder where your PDF files are located.
To do so open the Advanced Search window (Ctrl+Shift+F) and click Show More Options at the bottom. Then enter your search terms and select Match any of the words in the drop-down below them. Then click Search. Youll get a list of all the matches of either of the words you entered.
1 Answer. You can search a PDF for any text with lots of tools/technologies. You would need to extract all the text, filter to numeric values and then look for values over 300. There is no concept of a number on a PDF (as you might have in a spreadsheet), only text.
To begin searching for a PDF file, open the Windows Search bar and type in file type:pdf. From here, youll be able to browse through all of the PDF files on your computer and quickly locate the PDF file youre looking for.
Select Edit Advanced Search from the drop-down menu, or press Shift+Ctrl on a PC and Command+F on a Mac.
Our first method was a multi-step process. It involved running find to iterate over all the PDF files, running pdftotext, and then grep on each one of them to find the occurrence of the pattern. While this is a tricky process, it uses commands that are already available on most systems by default.
How to use the Search Window to Find text in multiple PDFs Open Acrobat on your desktop (not in a web browser). On the Find toolbar, select the ellipsis, and then select Advanced Search. In the Search window, enter the text you want to search in the box titled What word or phrase would you like to search for?
You can run a search across multiple PDFs using docHubs Advanced search. From the Edit menu, go to Advanced Search. In the Advanced Search window select All PDF Documents in. and then select Browse for Location. Select the location of the PDFs you want to search and select OK.
