Open the PDF document you want to search and highlight text in. Click on the search bar located at the top right corner of the screen. Type in the keyword or phrase you want to search for. Press Enter or click on the search icon to start the search.
In the Preview app on your Mac, open a PDF. In the Preview toolbar, type a word or phrase in the search field (you may need to resize the window to see it). To find an exact phrase, click the magnifying glass , then choose Exact Phrase.
The most common reason that you cant highlight PDF documents is because the document doesnt actually contain any real text. Instead, it contains scanned text, which is essentially an image of the text. In this case, you wont be able to highlight, underline, strikethrough, or edit this text in any way.
How to Extract Highlighted Text from a PDF on Mac Open the PDF document in Highlights. From the menu bar choose File Open. Click the Share icon. This will bring up the export menu: Select Destination. This brings up a save dialog. Choose where you want to save it and click save.
Quickly find highlighted text Select Find Advanced Find. The Find and Replace box appears. Select Format Highlight. If you dont see the Format button, select More. Select Find Next.
Normally, Notes and highlights you add to a PDF document are not saved in the PDF data, but are added to the file as extended attributes.
Method 2: Using docHub Pro: Open the PDF in docHub Pro. Go to the View menu and select Show/Hide Navigation Panes Comments. In the Comments pane, youll find a list of comments. Find and select the highlighted text. Right-click on the selected text and choose Copy Text.
To jump to highlighted text, do the following: Click Show/Hide Navigation Panel on the top toolbar to show the Navigation panel. In the Navigation Panel, click the Bookmarks tab. Click on the highlight to jump to specific highlighted text.
