Tick rate is how often a game refreshes its information. Usually, its measured in hertz. For example, a 128-tick server will update 128 times a second. Not to be confused with FPS (frames per second).
Tick rate is the frequency at which a server updates game data, which is measured in hertz (Hz). For example, Battlefield 4 has servers with frequency rates of 20, 40, 60, or more hertz. If such servers were in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, then we would say that they have a 20, 40, and 60 tick rate, respectively.
A single update of a game simulation is known as a tick. The rate at which the simulation is run on a server is often referred to as the servers tick rate; this is essentially the server equivalent of a clients frame rate.
The CS2 tick rate is a crucial setting that determines how often the game updates its state. Currently, CS2 operates at an official server tick rate of 64 Hz, which means 64 updates per second.
First, you need to get into the Console of your server. Once youre there, type in /gamerule randomTickSpeed followed by a number. That number is your new tick speed. Then press enter.
Tick rate is measured in hertz (Hz). For example, a tick rate of 60 Hz means the server updates the game state sixty times a second, whereas a tick rate of 30 Hz means the server updates the game states only thirty times a second.
Type /gamerule randomTickSpeed 6 (Java) or /gamerule randomTickSpeed 2 (Bedrock) in the chat menu to double the random tick speed. The default random tick speed is 3 in Java. This indicates how many blocks update per tick.
