Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Remove Security: The options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it from the document.
Tap on the File tab from the control panel and hit on the Protect button. From the Protect submenu, click on the Remove Security button and this will get rid of both the open and permission password from your PDF file. You can now freely edit, copy or print some or the entire content of your PDF as you wish.
Open the PDF and choose Tools Protection Encrypt Encrypt with Password 6. If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security. 7. Select Require A Password To Open The Document, then type the password in the corresponding field.
How to unlock a PDF to remove password security: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Remove Security: The options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document.
How to remove PDF passwords. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it. If the document has a permissions password, type the correct password in the Enter Password box and then click OK.

Important: You need to know the password to remove it from a PDF. If you dont know the password, theres no practical way to open the file or remove the password.
When you protect documents with a password, people who enter the correct password can access the file or folder. A stronger security method is encryption, with common types being 128-bit key or 256-bit AES encryption. Encryption turns document content into unreadable cipher text.
