Turn on device encryption Sign in to Windows with an administrator account (you may have to sign out and back in to switch accounts). For more info, see Create a local or administrator account in Windows. Select Start Settings Privacy security Device encryption. If Device encryption is turned off, turn it On.
Its generally not needed to encrypt the entire disk, unless there are sensitive system or program files for some proprietary uses such as company proprietary software or databases, govt. proprietary software or databases or if you are a developer and wish to protect your work.
