Re: Save as CSV file (UTF-8) with double quotes - how? Click on File. Select "Save As" Selec the folder where you need to save your document. Select "Save as type", Click on the dropdown arrow to choose the new format, e.g., CSV file (UTF-8) Comma delimited.
So quote characters are used in CSV files when the text within a field also includes a comma and could be confused as being the reserved comma delimiter for the next field. Quote characters indicate the start and end of a block of text where any comma characters can be ignored.

Here's a way to do it without formulas or macros: Save your CSV as Excel. Select any cells that might have commas. Open to the Format menu and click on Cells. Pick the Custom format. Enter this => \"@\" Click OK. Save the file as CSV.
CSV files use double-quote marks to delimit field values that have spaces, so a value like Santa Claus gets saved as “Santa Claus” to preserve the space. If a field value contains double-quotes, then the double-quotes get doubled-up so the parser can tell the difference.
3 Quickest Ways to Save Excel as CSV with Double Quotes First, select the entire range (A1:B6) of the dataset. Then, press CTRL+1 to open the Format Cells window. Next, select the Custom format from the Number tab. Then, enter \“#\”;\“@\” in the Type field. After that, press OK.
Highlight the cells you want to add the quotes. Go to Format–>Cells–>Custom. Copy/Paste the following into the Type field: \"@\" or \'@\' Done!...Let A1 be your cell where you want to insert quotes. For Double Quotes: =CHAR(34)&A1&CHAR(34) ... = CONCATENATE("'",A1,"'") ="'" &A1&"'" Apply Custom Format.
Show activity on this post. Highlight the cells you want to add the quotes. Right click and go to: Format Cells → Tab: Number → Category: Custom. Paste the following into the Type field: "''"@"''" (see details below) Click “okay” Open the .csv file with Notepad (or equivalent)
Yes. You can import double quotation marks using CSV files and import maps by escaping the double quotation marks. To escape the double quotation marks, enclose them within another double quotation mark.
If it's not quoted, it's likely not a valid CSV file....I found this easy solution: Highlight the cells you want to add the quotes. Right click and go to: Format Cells → Tab: Number → Category: Custom. Paste the following into the Type field: "''"@"''" (see details below) Click “okay”
