Heres what you need to do: Open the image you want to resize using the Photos app. Click the ellipsis button on the menu bar at the top, the click Resize. Choose from the default size options provided. You can also choose Define custom dimensions if you want to set a specific size. Choose where to save the new image.
One way to do this is to use a program like Photoshop. With Photoshop, you can resize an image without losing quality by using the Image Size dialog box. In the Image Size dialog box, you can change the width and height of the image. You can also change the resolution.
But, again, these steps generally apply to any compression tool. Upload the image. First, open Squoosh in your web browser or as a desktop application, then drag your image into Squoosh. Check the current file size of your image. Choose your output format. Adjust the image quality. Download the compressed image.
at 11x14, you should get 231 ppi without doing anything, and that is still close enough to what typical printer is using for their default output ppi.
