Footers are for the bottom of your presentation and can show information on each and every slide. Lets go ahead and switch to the Insert tab on PowerPoint ribbon to get started. Now find the text section on the right side of the menu and lets click on Header and Footer. Now the first option that you might wanna add is the date and time, which you can add by checking the box for Date and Time. This adds the current date and time to each and every slide automatically. I like to leave the update automatically box checked, so that PowerPoint will always have the date I present or print my slides. Next, you could also tick the slide number to add that to each slide and it automatically increases on every slide. Finally, click the Footer checkbox so that you can add your very own custom text to each slides footer. You can type something that you wanna add to each slide. And lastly, I like to check the option to not show any of these things on the very first slide. When you press Apply to

Go to Insert Footer Footer. In the Footer pane, select Footer. In the Footer box, enter the footer text you want. If you have multiple slides selected, select Apply to Selected Slides.
On the View tab, select Slide Master. In Slide Master view, the layout for your slide appears in the main pane. On the Slide Master tab, in the Master Layout group, select the Footers box: In the main pane, immediately you should be able to see the footer placeholders on the slide layout.
If youve added footer information (such as slide numbers or the date) to your slides but they still dont appear, the likely problem is that footers are currently turned off in Slide Master view.
Select Insert Footer Footer. Select the Footer checkbox, then type the footnote text. Close the Footer pane; when you do so, the footnote will be added to the current slide.
Important: To ensure that your revised footers appear on your slides, on the Insert menu, click Header and Footer. Then, on the Slide tab, select any footer elements you want to appear on your slides, including Date and time, Slide number, and Footer.
Solution: If you cant directly edit footer text, its probably the case that the footer placeholder has been turned off in Slide Master view. To change that situation, you can open Slide Master view and make changes there, as described below. On the View tab, select Slide Master.
On the View menu, select Master Slide Master. At the top of the thumbnail pane, click the slide master to select it. Highlight any footer elements (such as date, footer text, or slide number) on the slide master, and then on the Home tab, choose the font formatting you want in the Font and Paragraph groups.
Show footer information on your slides Click INSERT Header Footer. On the Slide tab, check Footer. In the box below Footer, type the text that you want, such as the presentation title. Check Date and time to add that to your slides.
