The definition of a revision date is the day when a change was made. An example of a revision date is January 13, 2012 when a specific account was modified.
So if you created your manual 2/1/2014 that is the issue date and when you make a change lets pretend on November 10, 2017 you should have a revision summary telling what the change was on each document and then you will have your revision date which would be 11/10/2017.
The year or date the product was created or revised.
When it comes to documents, your Revision Date tells your employees about when the document was last revised.
I can see I will have to revise my opinions of his abilities now. The government may need to revise its policy in the light of this report. I realised that I would have to revise my life plan.
Strategies for Revising Content Delete from the body of the document any information that is unessential and unimportant to most of your readers. If the information will be important to some of your readers, include it in one or more appendixes. Clarify technical terms. Replace any term that is used incorrectly.
Revising is part of writing.Make sure your written assignment is clearly organized, unified, and coherent. Revise for coherence. Revise for consistency. Revise the language. Revise the format. Proofread.
Revision is more than proofreading. It is looking back at whole ideas to make sure that everything fits the purpose of the document. It may be looking back at the type of or amount of evidence provided to support the ideas, or it may be looking back at the organization of paragraphs and their relation to one another.
What does it mean to revise? Revision literally means to see again, to look at something from a fresh, critical perspective. It is an ongoing process of rethinking the paper: reconsidering your arguments, reviewing your evidence, refining your purpose, reorganizing your presentation, reviving stale prose.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Date Time. In the Date and time dialog box, select the format you want. Select the Update automatically check box. The date is inserted as a field and will update automatically.
