Select Microsoft Print to PDF. Click Print. (This wont actually print your document, but instead prompt the File Explorer dialog box to open.) In the new dialog box, your document now has the PDF file extension.
Whether youre using Windows or macOS, your computer will automatically open any PDF with its own default app. For Windows, thats Microsoft Edge. For macOS, its Preview. Heres how to change the default PDF viewer for each of these operating systems.
Does Windows have a PDF editor? Windows 10 does not have its own PDF editor. Microsoft Edge provides a PDF viewer but no PDF editor option. Another option for editing a PDF on this operating system is to convert the PDF into a Word file.
On Windows 10 and 11 youll find that, by default, PDF documents open in Microsoft Edge and on Mac OS they open in Preview.
