In your Word document: Highlight the text in which the URL should be embedded (usually the citation itself or the document title, such as Alias Grace) Go to the Insert menu (or press Control K) to open the Insert Hyperlink dialogue box. Paste the URL into the Address box. Press OK or hit Enter.
To view the Document URL, scroll down to the Locations section in the Document Details Panel. There you will see the URL.
To extract the URL from the hyperlinked text: Right click on the hyperlinked text. From the right-click menu, choose a copy link option. The wording will be different depending on the application you are using. Paste the copied address into your web browsers address bar. Press Enter to go to the web address.
There is a simple way to do this. On the document you want to make your hyperlinks back to normal blue, press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + S .
Re: How can I extract URL from hyperlinks? Right-click a hyperlink. From the Context menu, choose Edit Hyperlink. Select and copy (Ctrl+C) the entire URL from the Address field of the dialog box. Press Esc to close the Edit Hyperlink dialog box. Paste the URL into any cell desired.
Find All Hyperlinks in a Document First, press keyboard shortcuts Alt+ F9. You can see all hyperlinks turn into their Link parts now.
Pay attention to the setting named Use CTRL+Click to Follow Hyperlink. If this check box is selected, then Word requires the use of the Ctrl key to activate the link. (Or, as Fay did, right-clicking the link and selecting to open it.)
