Hey there. Hows it going everybody in this video? Were going to be looking at how to read parse and write CSV files now if you dont know what CSV files are it stands for comma separated values basically CSV files allow us to put into a plain text file Some data and use some type of delimiter usually a comma to separate the different fields now I have a sample CSV file here that we can work with and if we look at this then we can see how these are Usually structured so this can kind of look like a mess, but its not really meant to be read directly This is just how the data is stored And then we can use our programs to parse out the information that we want, but we can see that the top Line here has our fields now our fields in this file are first name Last name and email so that tells us the information that we should expect to see on every line so if I go to the next line here then we can see that John is the first name and then a comma though is the last name and then a comma and

Try this: Open your excel. Go to File. Go to Manage Versions. Click Recover Unsaved Worksheets. Put your computer username in the following blank region. C:\Users\ \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel. Copy the above address then. Paste in the address bar. Select the appropriate folder and see the file.

Does anyone know if I can recover the data from the other tabs? CSV files dont store tabs. It just stores data of the tab that was opened when you exported the CSV.

CSV is plain text, separated by commas. I repeat: plain text. This should give you a clue to what comes next Data saved in CSV will not retain data formatting.
To preserve all the digits in text-formatted numbers, you have to import the downloaded CSV file as raw data into a new Excel spreadsheet, set the column datatypes as needed, and then save the new file as an Excel workbook. Excel (XLSX) files will preserve these formats, CSV files wont.
Select Data on the ribbon, and then From Text. (If the menu options are greyed out this could be because you do not have a workbook open). Browse for the *. csv file you want to open, and click Import.
Right-click on the Excel XLS/CSV file and select Properties; 2. Go to Previous Versions, find and select the latest version or the last version before Excel replaced or saved, click Restore. Then you can get your Excel file XLS or CSV restored without losing any saved data.
Steps include: Right-click on the CSV file. Choose Properties. Click on Previous Versions. Select the last version prior to save or replace. Click Restore.
