If you hide a style and later discover that you need to use it, just go back to the Style Pane Options dialog box, select the style that you want to use and click on Show. To manage your styles list: Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S.

Scroll down to Display, where you will see Style area pane width in Draft and Outline views. Set the width to something more than zero, and then click OK to close the dialog.
On the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the style that you want to remove from the gallery. Click Remove from Style gallery on the shortcut menu. Note: Removing a style from the gallery does not remove the style from the entries that appear in the Styles task pane.
CTRL-SPACE removes character-level formatting from the selected text (fonts, italics/bold, font size, etc.) but leaves paragraph formatting (indents, line spacing, etc.) intact. CTRL-Q leaves fonts and other character formatting intact but reverts paragraph-level formatting to Normal Style of current document.
Apply styles Select the text you want to format. Tip: If you place your cursor in a paragraph, the style is applied to the whole paragraph. On the Home tab, point to a style to preview it. If you dont see a style you want, click the More button. Select a style.
On the Home tab, click the Styles Dialog Box Launcher, and then click Options. Under Select styles to show, click All styles. All styles are displayed in the Styles task pane. Select text in your document and then click the style in the Styles task pane.
If the style is based on an underlying style, then you can only revert the style. This means that all the text that uses the style you are deleting is changed to the underlying style for the style you are deleting.
Displaying styles in the Styles task pane Click the Home tab in the Ribbon. Click the dialog box launcher (diagonal arrow) on the bottom right in the Styles group. You can also press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S. The Styles task pane will appear.
You can modify a style directly in the Styles gallery, without using the text in your document. On the Home tab, right-click any style in the Styles gallery and click Modify. In the Formatting section, make any formatting changes you want, such as font style, size, or color, alignment, line spacing, or indentation.
