Yes you can recover a previous version of an overwritten file using the File History feature in Windows, or the Time Machine tool in MacOS, if they have already been enabled on your device.

To recover an overwritten file on Windows 10 PC: Open Windows Explorer and find the folder where the file was located in. Right-click anywhere inside this folder and select Properties. Select the Previous Versions tab. Look for an earlier version of the overwritten file and restore from it.
