hi my name is Justin Conway today going to talk about how to restore a toolbar in Microsoft Excel sometimes for some reason you accidentally click somewhere youll youre youll see your toolbar disappear or you wont see it it just wont be there anymore and there are ways to get it back so Ill walk through a couple of those first way is right now Im missing my formatting toolbar as you can see some of the options that are typically available on excel are not available Im going to go to the very top of the excel page here and just right click and go to toolbars and youll see the formatting is not checked if I click that it restores my toolbar you can right click and select through the variety of options here or click on customize toolbars toolbars to really be able to manage your toolbar settings and and what you have displayed the other thing sometimes when people say toolbars they mean the ribbons which are these going across here and the way to adjust those are to go into Excel

View previous versions of a file Open the file you want to view. Click File Info Version history. Select a version to open it in a separate window. If you want to restore a previous version youve opened, select Restore.
In the taskbars search box, type Restore your files using File History . Ensure that the File History option is turned on. Locate the excel file you want to recover. Select Restore to recover the file to its original location, or select Restore to if you wish to save it to a different folder.
Go to File History. Note: If you dont see History on your navigation pane its possible that you actually have a subscription version of Microsoft 365. Select the Info button on the navigation pane and see if you can access Version History there. Select a version to open it in a separate window.
Click on the FILE tab and choose Info on the left-hand pane. Next to the Manage Versions button youll see all autosaved versions of your document. Excel automatically saves versions of the workbook at specified intervals, but only if youve made changes to your spreadsheet between these intervals.
Click the File tab. If needed, scroll to the Version history section. Select an autosaved version of the file in the list of recovered files. If the version you need to recover isnt in the recent list, click the Manage Workbook button and select Recover Unsaved Workbooks to see if the version you need is saved there.
The Dropbox badge shows you information about who is currently working in a shared Microsoft Office file with you. If you dont see the Dropbox badge, check the following: The file youre working on is saved in your Dropbox folder. The file youre working on is a Microsoft Office document, opened with Microsoft Office.
Version history goes back to the beginning of the document. If a client has edit permission, they can access version history. If you want to delete version history so they dont see it, make a copy of the sheet.
Turn on the Dropbox badge To enable the Dropbox badge at any time, first open your Dropbox desktop app preferences. In the General tab, next to Dropbox badge, click Always show or Show only if others present.
If youve saved the file Open the file you were working on. Go to File Info. Under Manage Workbook or Manage Presentation, select the file labeled (when I closed without saving). In the bar at the top of the file, select Restore to overwrite any previously saved versions.
