hi Im Shannon grocery with versa toss software training and Im here to show you how to edit a table of contents in Word so I have a document set up and I do have a table of contents but Im going to show you some things you can do to change it if I click in the table of contents you can see that it is something that is an extra field thats been input into Word and if I want to make changes to it I can come here to the reference tab and on the far left I have a drop-down arrow table of contents some things I can do to change that would be to change the built-in style so I can maybe choose this manual table option and as you can see I can fill in any kind of information I want there or I can go up to contents which is what I think I had before but I might want to change the items that I see in the table of contents so at this point I see under our services a few services and I might not want those in my table of contents they got pulled in because its by default pulling in up to thr

How to Use Auto-Fit to Automatically Resize the Table Click on your table and select AutoFit in the Layout tab. AutoFit will present two options. To auto-adjust column width, choose AutoFit Contents. In order to turn off AutoFit, choose Fixed Column Width from the available options.
To do this, first select the cells to automatically adjust. Then click the AutoFit button in the Cell Size button group on the tables Layout contextual tab in the Ribbon.
On the Tables tab, under Table Options, click New, and then click Insert Table. Under Table size, specify the number of rows and columns that you want. Under AutoFit behavior, specify how the table should fit to the text you insert into it, and then click OK.
Go to the Layout tab on the right-hand side that only appears when you are within a table. Note that this is not the Layout tab that is always on the ribbon dont get the two confused! Now click AutoFit and select Fixed Column Width.
On the Layout tab, in the Cell Size group, click AutoFit. Do one of the following. To adjust column width automatically, click AutoFit Contents. To adjust table width automatically, click AutoFit Window.
Adjust Table Columns in Word (Auto Fit) Click anywhere in the table. In Table Tools click the [Layout] tab locate the Cell Size group and choose from of the following options: To fit the columns to the text (or page margins if cells are empty), click [AutoFit] select AutoFit Contents.
