You can add emojis to your Google Docs and Sheets. In Google Docs and Slides, you can also add special characters, like arrows, shapes, or accent marks.
You can also quickly identify line breaks with the Find and Replace tool in Google Docs. To do this, navigate to Edit Find and Replace and tick the Use regular expressions checkbox. To find hard returns, youll need to search for the syntax reference \n; to find soft returns, search for \v.
To replace text: Type the text you want to find in the Find field. Type the text you want to replace it with in the Replace with field. Click Next or Prev and then Replace to replace text. If you want to replace all occurrences of the text within the document, click Replace all.
Use find and replace in a document On your Android phone or tablet, open a document in the Google Docs app. Tap More. Find and replace. Type the word you want to find. Tap Search . To see every time the word is used, in the top right, tap the arrows. Replace a single word: Tap More. To return to the document, tap Done .
Insert special characters On your computer, open Google Docs or Slides. Open or create a document or presentation. At the top, click Insert. Find the character you want to insert: To add a character to your file, click it.
Navigation Ribbon: In the ribbon at the top of the document, click Edit. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, click Find and Replace. Keyboard Shortcut: You can open the Find and Replace menu using a keyboard shortcut. Press Ctrl + H to open the Find and Replace menu in Google Docs.
Find and replace items using regular expressions On your computer, open a document or spreadsheet in Google Docs or Google Sheets. Click Edit. Find and replace. Next to Find, type the expression and click Search using regular expressions or Match using regular expressions. Click Find.
On the Special menu, select the special character that you want to find. Select in the Replace with box. On the Special menu, select the special character that you want to use as a replacement. Select Replace or Find Next.
