Youre probably familiar with the Find functionality, not just from Excel but also from other Office applications so Im not gonna bore you with that. What I just wanna show you are some additional options that can come in really handy in Excel and theyre hidden under these tab options. Turn off AutoComplete Enable the workbook that you want to turn off the auto complete, and click File Options. In the Excel Options window, click Advanced in the left pane, then go to the Editing options section in the right part, and uncheck Enable AutoComplete for cell values checkbox. Click OK.
The best method is to press Ctrl + F (known as the find function) and then select the tab that says Replace. Type #REF! in the Find field and leave the Replace field empty, then press Replace All. This will remove any #REF Excel errors from formulas and thus fix the problem.
Turn on AutoComplete On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete. Select the Show AutoComplete options for functions and named ranges check box.
Replace text or numbers with the Find Replace Press Ctrl+H or go to Home Find Select Replace. In Find what, type the text or numbers you want to find. Enable/Disable AutoComplete in Excel Navigate to the File Options menu. In the Excel Options window, open Advanced on the left. Under the Editing Options section, toggle Enable AutoComplete for cell values on or off depending on whether you want to turn this feature on or disable it.
AutoComplete is the automatic filling in of your text when you start typing and is switched on by default. This will reduce the amount of text you have to enter by preventing you typing in repetitive words. AutoComplete matches only exact cell entries, not individual words in a cell.
On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Formulas and Lists, click AutoComplete. In the Show the menu only after Ive typed box, enter the number of letters that you want to type before the AutoComplete menu appears. Tip: You can also show the AutoComplete menu by pressing CONTROL + OPTION + DOWN ARROW .
In case you want to remove comments from the entire worksheet, follow the below steps: Click on the gray triangle at the top-left of the Excel application. This will select the entire worksheet (or you can use Control + A + A) Click the Home tab. In the Editing group, click on Clear. Click on Clear Comments.
This feature works the same in all modern versions of Microsoft Excel: 2010, 2013, and 2016. On the Review tab, in the Changes group, click the Track Changes command . Click Accept/Reject Changes .
If you want to stop automatic completion, you can turn this option off. Click File Options. Click Advanced, and then under Editing options, select or clear the Enable AutoComplete for cell values check box to turn this option on or off.
