Most stain removers contain chemical solvents that help dissolve stain-based chemicals.
For this you can either fill a container with enough vinegar to completely cover the stain, and place the item in to soak, or, you can mix several tablespoons of white vinegar and your favorite laundry detergent in a bucket of water and soak the stain overnight.
Because of the unequal sharing of electrons within each water molecule, water molecules act like little magnets with other polar molecules. The positive end of one polar molecule is attracted to the negative end of another polar molecule. Many stains are nonpolar.
Standard inorganic stains like ink are best removed by the use of a solvent. Rubbing alcohol or more technically isopropyl alcohol is best here. Although you can also use different substances like plain vodka. Applying the alcohol to the stain with a spray bottle works well after which point it can be gently blotted.
But for these 8 hardest and stubborn stains to remove, you would be needing more than that to get rid of them. Hot Cocoa. Poop. Blood. Permanent Marker. Tomato Sauce. Grass Stains. Red Wine. Chocolate.
Fresh coffee stains on paper can be treated using white vinegar and cotton balls. For older stains, you can use a diluted bleach solution. After removing the stain you can use an iron on low heat to remove the wrinkles on your paper.
Place enough baking soda onto the paper so that it completely covers the stain and leave overnight. The baking soda should be in a relatively tall pile. If you can still see the paper through the baking soda, add more! Other non-staining absorbent powders will also work for this step.
Place the paper between 2 sheets of clean white paper, warm up an iron on low heat, and place it on top of the paper for 5 seconds. Remove the iron after 5 seconds and check the oil stain, it will be lighter or possibly completely gone. Repeat the process as needed to continue to lift the stain. Thanks!
Most water stains are not actually caused by the water itself but from the tannins in the wood behind the paper, which dissolve when they come into contact with the water. Often these can be eliminated with a little bleach mixed with distilled water. (For oil and grease stains, try a white eraser.)
Acids and Bases as Stain Removers Basics are also generally polar, so they easily dissolve in water and can be used to remove stains.
