How do I edit a PDF in Ubuntu? You can easily edit any PDF using PDF editors like LibreOffice on Ubuntu. All you have to do is access its Draw tool to add text boxes. Once you add these boxes, you can quickly type any content you want to edit already existing PDF text.
Use a PDF editor to erase individual words. Click on the Edit PDF tool on the right-hand side of the screen. Select a text block and make changes in the PDF or erase words using your keyboard. Erase entire text blocks by clicking Delete when the block is highlighted.
To do this, navigate to Tools and select Redact Redact Text Images Find Text Redact. This makes it easy to identify and then black out that content throughout the document.
3. Linux, Using LibreOffice Draw Open your PDF file in LibreOffice Draw. Select the content you want to redact. Press the Delete key to remove the content. Click on File and select Export as PDF. In the PDF Options dialog box, choose the settings you want, such as the page range and image resolution.
Highlight the text you wish to redact. Right click the text, select properties, select the Type as Highlight, press Ok . Print the file to a pdf (check Force rasterization to make sure the redacted text is removed from the resulting file).
After opening the PDF file online, click with the mouse to select the text or area to be hidden, the color option will appear, you can change the color as needed to hide the text in the PDF. Click the Apply button to hide the text permanently. You can then download the PDF containing hidden text.
Using your mouse cursor, highlight the text you want to redact. A temporary red redaction box appears to let you confirm the text you wish to obscure. Click Apply Redaction, then be sure to save a copy of the document. The text is now permanently obscured.
