were in Microsoft Excel 2013 Im going to show you how to delete a header or footer and as you can see when we open up our Excel worksheet that we see a header at the top its showing page numbers and we also show a time clock at the bottom so in order to delete this we just have to do a couple things first start off by clicking on the insert tab click on header and footer and you can see now the header turns into a formula so were going to start by deleting the formula Ill just go ahead and hit the Delete key and well do the same thing down in the footer now theres one other thing we need to do and that is if you move your mouse over to the left youll see that the curse cursor changes into this other icon go ahead and click on it once it looks like this new different little picture and then that takes that particular one away so now at the same time the footer goes away as well so now we can go back to view and we can choose normal or any view that we want you can see the heade

You can hide rows and columns in a spreadsheet in order to cut down on visual clutter. Right-click a row or column header. Select Hide row or Hide column.
On the status bar, click the Page Layout View button. Select the header or footer text you want to change. On the Home tab in the Font group, set the formatting options that you want to apply to the header / footer. When youre done, click the Normal view button on the status bar.
Double-click the header or footer area to open the Header Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections. Select Header or Footer and do one of the following: Choose Remove Header or Remove Footer .
Remove all headers and footers Go to Insert Header or Footer, and then select Remove Header or Remove Footer. If your document has more than one section, repeat this process for each section.
Show or hide the Header Row Click anywhere in the table. Go to the Table tab on the Ribbon. In the Table Style Options group, select the Header Row check box to hide or display the table headers.
Please ensure you are in Normal view. To check, click the sheet tab on which you have this issue, click View tab on the ribbon and check if Normal is selected in the Workbook Views group. Try deleting/ inserting rows/columns again.
To remove the header and footer, first exit the header and footer area. To do that, click anywhere in the worksheet. Then in the Ribbon, go to Page Layout and activate Page Setup Dialog Box by clicking on the arrow in the bottom right part of the Page Setup group.
Select Close Header and Footer or double-click anywhere outside of the header or footer area to exit.
To remove an individual header or footer, simply switch to Page Layout view, click the header or footer text box, and press the Delete or Backspace key.
