Yes. Bates meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, regardless of citizenship status. Your financial aid package will consist of scholarship grants and on-campus employment. Bates financial aid packages for non-U.S. citizens students do not include loans.
Bates admissions is extremely selective with an acceptance rate of 14%. Students that get into Bates have an average SAT score between 1385-1460 or an average ACT score of 30-32.
Average GPA: 3.88 The average GPA at Bates College is 3.88. This makes Bates College Extremely Competitive for GPAs. (Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA.
Average ACT: 31 The average ACT score composite at Bates College is a 31. The 25th percentile ACT score is 29, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 32. In other words, a 29 places you below average, while a 32 will move you up to above average.
Half the applicants admitted to Bates College have an SAT score between 1260 and 1470 or an ACT score of 30 and 34. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges. The application deadline is Jan.
For many students who have decided that Bates is their first choice, Early Decision is a good plan. Between 30% and 40% of the entering class is admitted early. There are two deadlines to choose from: November 15 for notification by December 20 and January 1 for notification by February 15.
