Use the Pages app to open Microsoft Word documents, the Numbers app to open Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and the Keynote app to open Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. If you dont have Pages, Numbers, or Keynote on your Mac, you can get them from the App Store.
Tip: You can open files created with Microsoft Office on your Mac. Use the Pages app to open Microsoft Word documents, the Numbers app to open Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and the Keynote app to open Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.

Ive noticed that some features that exist on Word for PC are just straight-up missing on Mac. Particularly, the ability to format pasted text using keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + K for keeping source formatting and Ctrl + T for keeping text only) and recently used symbols.
In the top menu bar select Finder Applications and scroll down to the Microsoft Office apps. Open any Office app, like Microsoft Word and in the Whats New box that opens, select Get Started.
The Mac version is typically more user-friendly and feature-rich, while the Windows version is typically more powerful and feature-rich. Additionally, the Mac version is typically more expensive and requires a subscription, while the Windows version can be purchased as a one-time purchase.
