Contents. Text-to-Speech for Firefox offers the option of having text read out loud in a Firefox browser. The user simply points out the content, right clicks, then chooses the little green circle on the written content to begin the reading function. Most people prefer to listen to audio than read written content.
Open in Firefox: Select this if you want Firefox to display the content. It only applies to a limited number of content types that Firefox is able to decode (PDF, AVIF, XML, SVG, and WebP Image).
This is the default setting. When you click a link to a PDF file or open it from the Firefox Downloads panel, it will be rendered with the built-in PDF viewer. (To learn more about the built-in viewer, see below.) The built-in PDF viewer will open the PDF file in Firefox without saving it.
You can open DOCX files on a number of free applications, including Open Office and Google Docs. You can also open DOCX files on Microsoft Word online, though this is a more limited service than the full software. Alternatively, you can convert to PDF for free, using docHubs free conversion tool.
DOCX file using Google Docs. If you have a Gmail account, you can use Google Drive on your device and access Google Docs. This is a free, online-based application that allows you to open and create documents with text, images, special formatting and charts or tables.
Using the Find bar then click Find in This page, or use the keyboard shortcut by pressing Ctrl+F. A find bar will appear at the bottom of the window. Type a search into the find field. Firefox will automatically highlight the first matching result on the page as you type.
To actually open up a DOC or DOCX file in Google Docs, all you have to do is navigate to a new document, and then the File header menu. From there, just select Open and then navigate to the last header that says Upload. After that, all you have to do is upload your document, and Google Docs will handle the rest.
Firefox doesnt support . docx files internally, so you wont be able to open this file type in a Firefox tab. You will have to open this file in an external application that can handle this file. Firefox doesnt support .
