Yes, my experience is that when left running Vivaldi uses more and more memory and I have no explanation for it. As you say, re-launching cures the immediate problem.
While Vivaldi is much less snappy than Chrome or Firefox, the memory consumption isnt much more than that of Chromes. All browsers take up an insane amount of memory now. Thats just the way the web is working.
