hi my name is Brian and this is can tip files be compressed a TIF file is an image file similar to a JPEG or a gif but TIFF files are very high quality image files theyre even bigger than JPEGs which are generally pretty big so when you compress a TIFF file you want to make sure that you dont lose any of the quality because if its a tiff file and its big its probably big for a reason because you need a high resolution the good news is if you compress a TIFF file using zip or lzw those are lossless compression methods so you can zip and unzip a TIFF file as many times as you want without degrading the quality so I have three TIFF files open here and Im just going to highlight these three and then go to compress three items and now theyre in a zip file and I can open and close this as many times as I want without losing any quality but because it zipped the size of the files are much smaller you

1. Convert the RTF file to a text file using a word processor. To do this, first open the file in a program such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer. Select the Save as command in the File menu, choose the TXT format in the drop-down menu and click Save.
The major downside is file size. RTF documents are not compressed so they are much larger than the same document saved in . docx or . odt formats that automatically shrink the file.
Insert pictures instead of copying and pasting. Use smaller image files. Apply styles instead of manual formatting. Save a copy of large Word files.Apply styles instead of manual formatting Right-click the style in the Styles group on the Home tab in the Ribbon and choose Modify. Make the necessary changes. Click OK.
Another disadvantage is that RTF files can be larger than other types of text files, such as plaintext files. This is because RTF files contain more information about the formatting of the document.
Saving to RTF may reduce file size. Strip out unused styles. If you have relatively few styles, you can identify and remove them manually. Otherwise you will want to run a macro to do it for you.
Resolution Rename the Word file to a Zip (. Open Windows Explorer, locate, and then open the saved compressed file that has a . Select the word folder, and then open the media folder to display the graphics. Delete (or move to a new folder) some graphics to reduce the file size.
RTF stands for Rich Text Format and is a universal document file format and is easily read by many of the word-processing packages. It is particularly useful to those using a different word-processing package from those used on campus.
Expand or condense the space evenly between all the selected characters Select the text that you want to change. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, and then click the Advanced tab. In the Spacing box, click Expanded or Condensed, and then specify how much space you want in the By box.
Compress Word Files Online Drag and drop your Word file into the document compressor. Choose Basic compression. Well reduce the file size and change it to PDF format. Download the file and then convert it back to Word format. The file should now be in a much smaller sizedont forget to download it!
RTF (Rich Text Format) files arent designed to carry any computer code / macros that can be run to start a virus infection. So they would seem to be safe from virus infection. Sadly, not having macros doesnt stop hackers using RTFs maliciously. RTF documents can still be used to compromise a computer.
