Re-Linking An Image In Illustrator In Illustrator, select the embedded image that you want to replace with the selection tool (V), click Image at the top and the Relink icon. Once you do this, your folder dialog will pop up and ask you to find the file you would like to relink the original with.
The shortcut key to ungroup objects is Command + Shift + G ( Ctrl + Shift + G on Windows). Select the object with the Selection tool and use the keyboard shortcut to ungroup.
Before doing that, you will need to undo the Image Trace by going to Edit Undo Image Tracing. Once done with it, go to the Image trace panel again and click on Mode. Then, select Color from the dropdown menu.
You can change this in the Image Trace Panel. Under the Advance options - Create: make sure Stroke is checked. You can then use Object - Expand and then move around the anchor points to fix some of the lines. For best results you can manually trace the image with the pen tool.
For that I use Illustrator, and this is how. Step 1 - Place a Raster Image. Step 2 - Select the Image. Step 3 - Live Trace the Image. Step 4 - Adjust the Trace Settings. Step 5 - Expand the Paths. Step 6 - Add Some Text. Step 7 - Break Text into Paths. Step 8 - Create a Compound Path.
