so this is a small tool im working on for my own use i repair files photographs mainly and for um repair of for example raw files i use the hex editor a lot so i try to determine the corrupted part in a corrupt raw file and then i replace that with the with uh with the this the same part from a intact file so im using a reference file to repair a corrupt file uh if you do this in the hex editor for 10 files this is not a problem hey you make a selection in the in-text file and you copy that and you paste that into the the corrupt file you save that and you do it again for the next file and the next file next but for 10 files or so this is not a problem but if you have more files then you want to automate this and another another thing is that there are many uh proprietary raw uh file formats so um i do not know the the exact internal structure of each proprietary raw format but its still possible often to repair this file these corrupt files without having to know the exact internal

If the JPEG file header gets corrupt, you can replace the corrupt header with a healthy one. For this, you need a sample JPEG photo captured from the same device that was used for capturing the image which has a corrupt header. Then, use a Hex editor to replace the corrupt header with the healthy one.
The header part of a JPEG file is divided into segments, and each segment starts with a marker, identifying the segment. Usually a JPEG file contains 7 different markers. A marker is a pair of bytes, the first is 255 and the second is different from 0 and 255. We identify a marker by its second byte.

Click the small downward-pointing triangle on the Open button in the Open dialog box. Word displays a list of optional actions you can take. Move the mouse pointer down the list and click the selection, Open and Repair. Microsoft Word attempts to repair the document.
Syntax and structure. A JPEG image consists of a sequence of segments, each beginning with a marker, each of which begins with a 0xFF byte, followed by a byte indicating what kind of marker it is.
JPEG files (compressed images) start with an image marker which always contains the marker code hex values FF D8 FF. It does not have a length of the file embedded, thus we need to find JPEG trailer, which is FF D9.
