The name explains its functionality itself, it allows you to undo/redo the recent action(s) in a worksheet. For example, if a formula is accidentally deleted or you edit data in a cell which you dont actually want, these actions can be corrected by using the Undo and Redo operations provided by the control.
You can reverse more than one action. To reverse your last Undo, press CTRL+Y. You can reverse more than one action that has been undone. You can use Redo command only after Undo command.
The redo function restores any actions that were previously undone using an undo. Some people may refer to this feature as a reverse undo. For example, if you typed a word, and then deleted it using an undo, the redo function restores the word you deleted (undid).
To reverse your last action, press CTRL+Z. You can reverse more than one action. To reverse your last Undo, press CTRL+Y. You can reverse more than one action that has been undone.
The Redo function has the opposite effect as Undo, it reverses the Undo action. Redo is helpful if you regret using Undo. Note: The Redo command is only available if you have used Undo.
By default, Microsoft Excel keeps track of 16 undo levels. Undo levels provide an undo history for most actions that you perform in Excel. You can change the number of undo levels by adding an entry in the Microsoft Windows registry. Note We recommend that you do not increase the number of undo levels beyond 100.
To redo the most recent action that you undid, press CTRL+Y. To redo several actions, do one of the following: Press CTRL+Y repeatedly until the actions are redone. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click the arrow next to Redo , and then click the actions that you want to redo.
You can put them back into the ribbon if you like: Just right-click on them and then on Add to Quick Access Toolbar. Of course, the keyboard shortcuts continue to work: Ctrl + Z for undo and Ctrl + Y for redo.
