welcome premier trading university members what I like to talk to you today about how to trade futures understanding contracts had another current contract I dont know when to switch contracts and some of the basics on trading with TradeStation so lets start off with you type in the continuous symbol for oil at CL okay and obviously you change the symbol by right-clicking on the chart selecting format symbol and youll get the pop up there which again at CL thats the continuous contract you cant trade the continuous contract you must actually trade a specific month of oil so its called the front month lets how do we find out what that is obviously you can look it up right over here would look up and so we can say look up select the futures tab because youre looking up a future you can either type in the description or you know the route in this case CL maybe you dont know the route maybe youre going to look up o if you look up soybeans and you dont know what the symbol is so
