digital signatures rely on a symmetric key cryptography so before we talk about digital signatures lets quickly remind ourselves how a symmetric key cryptography works with asymmetric key cryptography theres a pair of mathematically related keys if you encrypt a message with one of the keys than the other key and only the other key can be used to decrypt it this is Albert and this is Sheila if Sheila wants Albert to send her a secret message she needs an asymmetric a pair of keys a computer program can generate these for her she sends Albert a copy of one of the keys and she keeps the other key to herself instead of sending Albert a key she could put a key in a public place for him to go and fetch himself it doesnt matter if someone else gets a copy of the public key Albert uses the public key to encrypt his message when Albert has encrypted the message he sends a Sheila the ciphertext only Sheila can decrypt the ciphertext because only Sheila has the matching key the private key t

To keep your electronic signature safe, you should always protect the document from editing. Open the PDF document with docHub Pro/Reader DC or XI application. On the right side, click Protect to open the Protect options. Click on Protect Using Password option.
Click File. Select Info. Select Protect Document. Select Add a Digital Signature.
If a PDF is signed using a digital ID or certificate, its locked to prevent changes to the document.
Add a Watermark over the signature which makes it harder to copy.
The Permissions setting controls restrictions that can be placed on the PDF file. To prevent the text and graphics from being copied from the PDF file, uncheck the Allow text and graphics to be copied option.
The only way to stop your signature from potentially being misused is to not include your signature in the document. This isnt as flippant a suggestion as it sounds. For instance, you might use a modified signature in the document, such as only your first name instead of your full signature.
How do digital signatures work? Ensure integrity by creating a digital signature of the message using the senders private key. Ensure confidentiality by encrypting the entire message with the recipients public key. Verify the users identity using the public key and checking it against a certificate authority.
1 Correct answer. Go to File - Properties - Security and select Password Security under Security Method. Select your settings, enter your password, and youre done.
Encrypting a PDF with a certificate is more secure than password protection (especially if you want to send a PDF securely) since the recipient must have a private key to decrypt it.
Add a Watermark over the signature which makes it harder to copy.
