A great way to harden cardstock or paper that has already been formed into a paper craft is with acrylic varnish. The best medium to use is spray varnish, which is quick-drying and waterproof and will protect your craft. It will also help to get into any hard-to-docHub spaces which liquid varnish could not get to.
Re: what is the delicate paper u place between photographs called? Glassine protective sheets.
How to Fix and Prevent Faded Photos? Use UV protecting glass. Switch out the glass in your picture frames, whether they are custom framing or inexpensive box store frames. Display a copy. Invest in proper storage. Professionally frame your photo. Change your light bulbs and invest in window treatments.
It is best to keep prints framed, in an album or in plastic sleeves, to protect them from external factors. Avoid contact with cardboard, rough paper and other rough materials. They can contaminate the print and scratch the surface. Use soft materials such as plastic sleeves where possible.
Hair Spray (several brands) Good old fashioned aerosol hair spray is a great go to waterproofer in the craft room. Sprayed lightly, in several thin coats, hair spray provides a quick transparent barrier for projects using inkjet prints.
You can always frame your photos to keep them protected, or you can simply spray them with a fixative varnish spray to make them extra durable.
There are two Page 2 2 primary ways to store photographic prints - using a filing system in archival boxes or using photo albums. I recommend filing photos in archival boxes if you have a lot of photos to arrange. You can organize the pictures in files by subject, person or year.
Select a spray sealer or varnish to apply thin, even layers of varnish over the print. Since inkjet paper is very absorbent, a spray produces a thin layer to coat the surface. Plan for ample drying time to apply several layers of sealant to properly preserve your memorable print.
