hi my name is Luke and this is how to prevent files from being copied if youd like to restrict copy access to a file what youre going to need to do is change its permissions in Windows the way you do this is by right-clicking the file in question scrolling down to properties then navigate over to the security tab at the top here youll see a list of users and their various permissions since Im the administrator for this machine Im going to click administrator and then click edit Im going to repeat the process again on the next window that comes up I highlight administrator and next to read and execute youre going to want to make sure that the check box is marked then click apply ok and ok now when I try to open the file access is denied if I try to copy and paste the file I also get a permission request and thats it
