A PDF file is a portable document file that can be sent conveniently to another destination. It is a read-only file, ensuring that it will not be edited. Sometimes, PDF files are protected using a password for security reasons. However, if we forget to remove the password before sharing the document, it can cause challenges for the recipient. Follow along as we try to open a password-protected PDF file in this tutorial.

The primary purpose of locking a PDF is to prevent access to unauthorized personnel. If any password was applied to the PDF file by the owner of the PDF, then the password is required to open the PDF file and there is no workaround to remove the password from the PDF and open it if you dont remember the password.
Remove a password from a document Open the document and enter its password. Go to File Info Protect Document Encrypt with Password. Clear the password in the Password box, and then click OK.
How to disable docHub Reader protected mode Open docHub Reader. Click Edit in the menu bar. Click Preferences. Click Security (Enhanced) of Categories. Uncheck Enable Protected Mode At Startup.
Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security.
Go to the PDF unlocker and click on the Unlock PDF button. Load the PDF files by clicking the +Add File button or drag and drop them into the upload area. If you still cannot remember the password, click Unlock. When the files have been processed, click Download File to receive your unrestricted PDFs.
How to remove password from PDF Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it. If the document has a permissions password, type the correct password in the Enter Password box and then click OK.
Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired. Click OK and then click Save.
Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect Restrict Editing. Choose a password and specify the editing permissions that you want to set for users without the password. Click OK and then click Save.
