Gary shows how to create a custom compression workflow in Automator to quickly compress and customize the file size. The example used is a scanned electric bill, which is currently 6.8 MB in size and can be made smaller by using the compression methods discussed.

How to remove password from PDF Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security. If the document has a Document Open password, click OK to remove it. Reduce File Size of PDF File in Acrobat Pro With Acrobat Pro open, go to File Open. After your file is open, Go to File Save as Other Reduced Size PDF. Select the Acrobat version that is compatible with the features in your PDF file. Re-name your file and Click Save.
With Acrobat Pro, follow the steps below to flatten your PDF: Make a copy of your PDF. Choose Advanced Print Production Flattener Preview. Adjust the Raster/Vector balance. Select Convert All Text To Outlines. Deselect Clip Complex Regions. Click Apply to flatten the PDF. Close the Flattener Preview dialog box.
Optimize the file size of your PDF Open a PDF in Acrobat. Click the Optimize PDF icon from the menu on the right. Click Reduce File Size in the toolbar. On a PC, set the version compatibility and click OK . Choose a location to save your file and click Save.
