hi and welcome to our cad programming workshop our topic for today is not related to computer ready design actually and its not related to geometry and what i want to discuss today is how to protect the software which we are developing from unauthorized use so this topic should be relevant to uh you guys if you develop some commercial software packages right if you do not want to expose or publish your sources if you want if you do not want to give your software for free when you basically want to protect your software to issue licenses it can be a trial version of your software which is limited in a time range or it can be a license locked to a machine or it can be a floating license which you can reuse across different workstations so here uh we have like a product which im using myself and i wanted to make this screencast not only to show you guys how to use this open license manager which i have opened right here but also for myself because i tend to forget things and uh i i use

Simply double-click a header or footer to unlock it, which will allow you to edit it.
Click the File tab and then click Info in the left pane. Click Protect Document and choose Restrict Editing from the dropdown (Figure C). Word will return to the document and display the editing options in the Restrict Editing pane. Check the second option and choose No Changes (Read Only) from the dropdown (Figure D).
Click or tap where you want to start a new page without the header or footer. Go to Layout Breaks Next Page to create a section break. Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections.
Click Review Protect Restrict Editing. Under Editing restrictions, select Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only).
Open the printing preferences dialog box after creating a document in an application. Click the Effects menu on the Detailed Settings tab. Select the Header/Footer check box. Select the items that you want to print on header and footer, Date and Time, Page Number, and Text.
Select Close Header and Footer or double-click anywhere outside of the header or footer area to exit.
To make a document un-editable, first, select all the text in the document by pressing Ctrl+A. Once all of the text is highlighted, click Restrict Editing in the Protect group on the Developer tab.
