How to create TXT records for SPF DMARC with Google Domains Log in to your Google Domains account, select your Domain, and go to the DNS section. Scroll down to the Custom resource records and create the following record: Name: Enter the host name for the TXT record. Click Add to publish the new record.
You do NOT need to put double quotation marks ( ) around SPF records when created as either an SPF record or a TXT record.
Step by step create a TXT record inside the zone file: Login to your DNS server as administrator. Launch the DNS Management Console. On DNS Manager window, expand your DNS name. Right click on your domain name and select Other New Records to add a new TXT record.
Log into your domain-hosting account. Go to your domains DNS settings page, which may be called something like Domain Name Management or Name Server Settings. Locate the TXT records form for your domain on this page.
TXT record: This is used to store text-based information of the outside domain for the configured domain. This is useful in identifying ownership of a domain. MX record: This is used in mail delivery based on the configured domain. This is useful in redirecting email requests to the mail servers for a specified domain.
Generally, we recommend a TTL of 24 hours (86,400 seconds). However, if you are planning to make DNS changes, you should lower the TTL to 5 minutes (300 seconds) at least 24 hours in advance of making the changes. After the changes are made, increase the TTL back to 24 hours.
TXT records are a type of Domain Name System (DNS) record in text format, which contain information about your domain. TXT records also have information that helps external network servers and services handle outgoing email from your domain.
TTL Values An older common TTL value for DNS was 86400 seconds, which is 24 hours. A TTL value of 86400 would mean that, if a DNS record was changed on the authoritative nameserver, DNS servers around the world could still be showing the old value from their cache for up to 24 hours after the change.
Key points to remember: A TXT record contains one or more strings that are enclosed in double quotation marks (). You can enter a value of up to 255 characters in one string in a TXT record. You can add multiple strings of 255 characters in a single TXT record.
The generic steps to add a text record to your domain are listed below. Sign in to your domains account at your domain host. Locate the page for updating your domains DNS records. Locate the TXT records for your domain on this page. Add a TXT record for the domain and for each subdomain (see Use Cases below).
