A widescreen aspect ratio is the standard 16:9 ratio of most high-definition computer monitors and televisions today. The 16 represents the top and bottom, and the 9 represents the sides. The numbers separated by a colon are the ratio of width to height in any monitor or TV.
A 1080p resolution means the image has 1920 pixels horizontally by 1080 vertically (1920x1080). You can find the total pixels in the image by multiplying those two numbers (the height and width) together, meaning a 1080p image has more than 2 million pixels.
For television and consumer media, 1920 1080 is the most common 2K resolution, but this is normally referred to as 1080p.
720p is the standard high-definition (HD) display resolution of 1280x720 pixels, with progressive scanning, at a 16x9 aspect ratio.
HD: 720p image resolution (1,280 x 720 pixels approximately 1 million total pixels) Full HD: 1080p image resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels approximately 2 million total pixels) Ultra HD: 4K image resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels approximately 8 million total pixels)

Full HD is just another term for 1080p or 1920x1080, and those are all ways of referring to the same resolution. By contrast, 4K has a resolution of 3840x2160. Thats a lot more pixels in the overall image totaling over 8 million pixels. As always, the higher the resolution, the sharper the picture will be.
In the case of a monitor with an industry-standard Full HD 1080p resolution, this display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This means that the screen will have a width of 1,920 pixels while the height of the screen will be 1,080 pixels.
