Polishing papers are one of the basic tools for working with metal clay. After creating and firing a metal clay object, youll need to polish it to make it shine! These polishing papers feel like paper towels, but they have a micron-graded abrasive bonded to the surface.
paper bullets are bullets made of paper, but they hurt a lot more than you would expect. many of you will know variations to the paper bullet, as it is often a common classroom/office weapon. this type of paper bullet is most likely the most simplified and consistent version to manufacture.
The paper patch was wrapped around the bullet, the projectile. It served a two-fold purpose. First, it engaged the rifling directly, serving much the same purpose as a linen patch did on a muzzle-loading rifle. Secondly, it protected the bore from leading by the typically soft-lead bullets in use at the time.
The paper, typically a thick, sturdy variety, keeps the undersized bullet centered in the bore. As each shot leaves progressively more fouling in the barrel from the black powder, this makes each shot harder and harder to load.
