hey lets Brooks here from document snap comm and today were going to be talking about how to redact or remove text from a PDF using an a Mac application called PDF pen now sometimes when you have a document there may be some text in it thats sensitive maybe you have your PDF but you dont you want to remove your account number maybe theres a name you want to remove or some sort of confidential information a lot of applications like the built-in preview on the Mac will let you you know draw a square overtop of the text that you want to remove the problem with that is youre basically just covering up the text the text is still there and if someone gets a hold of it that knows how to do it you can go in and grab that text that you think youre erasing so what you want to do is use an application that lets you redact the text or actually take it out of the document Im going to be using a map application called PDF pen if you use Windows something like Acrobat I think can do this as

To password protect PDF via Kofax Power PDF. Proceed to Security Tab in Kofax Program. Click Manage Security Modify. On the Security Method, choose Password Security with the necessary options that is to encrypt the documents contents or not. Select Allow document opening only by password and key in the password.
To set preferences for Security Server settings or other settings, select File Options Security.
