How to make a PDF read only with docHub Pro Launch docHub Pro and press File Open. Select Protect in the right sidebar. Click Protect Using Password in the top bar. Select the Editing option, enter a secure password, and press Apply Select File Save As and save your PDF.
How to Encrypt a PDF Using docHub Click Tools Protect Encrypt Encrypt with Password. Click Yes if youre prompted to confirm that youre changing the documents security. Select Require a Password to Open the Document, and then enter the password.
Click Review Restrict Editing. Under Editing restrictions, check Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only). Click Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.
How Can I Make a PDF Not Allow Editing? Open the document in Power PDF. Navigate to the Security tab and click Manage Security. Check the box that says, Set a password to restrict editing of security settings. Enter a password. Set restrictions, including whether to allow printing and which changes you wish to allow.
View PDFs in Read mode To open Read mode, choose View Read Mode, or click the Read Mode button in the floating toolbar. To restore the work area to its previous view, choose View Read Mode again.
It is not possible to protect just a part of a PDF document, you can only protect the whole document. A workaround would be to attach the fully protected PDF to a PDF that has the cover and is not protected.

On Windows, just right-click your PDF and select Properties Read-only OK. On a Mac computer, the process is a little more complex. Select the PDF and click File Get Info. You can then set access rights under the Sharing Permissions tab.
